Miche has been my wonderful esthetician twice now for waxing.  She's so professional yet warm that she makes the experience surprisingly comfortable.  Her technique is swift, thorough, and because of that on the lower end of the pain spectrum.  Prices are definitely fair and what I especially love is twice now she was able to fit me in to her busy schedule the same day I called (I may have just gotten lucky so don't hold her to that ; ).  Also, somehow she remembered me and what we talked about from my visit months ago!

Nothing but great things to say about Miche and Bombshell Beauty  : )

I got my first brazilian ever done here, by Michelle. I knew it would hurt, but I have a pretty high tolerance for pain (as do most women) and figured I could tough it out. Michelle did a really good job of making me feel comfortable and warning me when thing were going to be painful. "You're from Alaska, you can handle this," she told me.

The atmosphere was really cozy and cute - pink walls and pinup posters. Very reasonable prices and quality work. She really took the time to make sure I got what I paid for. I'll definitely go back here.

I used to come here about once every 2 months or so to get a Brazilian, and have never been disappointed. This was the first place I ever got one done, and if I could have it my way, it would be the last. But unfortunately, life has taken me too far away.

I've actually never met Kerra, only talked to her over the phone since Miche was always my waxer. I was a a bit hesitant at first since all the reviews talk about how Kerra is great, so naturally I wanted her, but my preconceived notions were thrown out the window because Miche is absolutely wonderful.

She makes you feel really comfortable and gets the job done well. During the Brazilian, she's really good about warning you when it's gonna hurt a lot (since some areas with denser hair hurt pretty darn badly), and puts pressure on it right away to ease the pain. She's also very thorough and jokes about how I'm probably tired of getting my hair plucked since she's always picking up the tweezers every time she sees a stray hair, and though it's painful, I fully appreciate that she takes the time to make sure she does a good job.

If you're a student it's only $50! But I always make sure to tip nicely since she's just so wonderful. So, even though I'm gone, and can't come here regularly anymore, whenever I'm in Austin, this is going to be one of the first places I go.

I forgot how amazing Kerra is. Yes, I wrote a review on Bombshell Beauty but a few weeks ago, however I hadn't had her services in over a year and was so excited to come back to Austin and get another one of her amazing Brazilians.

When I called for a last minute appointment, Kerra was quick to fill me in to her busy schedule. Thank gah! Don't panic or get turned off if you get a machine when you call, unlike most business who take days to respond, you'll get a returned call from her that same day or--if it's late--the next morning.

So, thanks to my handy new navigation system, I was able to find her new location off of Airport and 53rd in a small shopping center. The studio is oh-so cute. Pink walls, pics of hottie pinup gals, as hairy as your legs underarms or whatever may be, you still feel like a glamazon woman here.

I know I mentioned in my first review is that the Brazilian takes 30-45 minutes. I'd teeter more around 20-30 now. And the pain wasn't as bad as I remember. Spread out over 25 minutes, it was actually less painful in that time than with the five gruesome minutes with my (now ex) Houston esthetician who I find myself moaning and sweating in panic.

I forgot about all the considerate prep work the staff at Bombshell Beauty does. She smooths over the treated area with some topical liquid toner or lotion. I'm assuming this is what protects the skin from the wax's heat, because once she smeared the wax over my skin, I could barely feel the discomfort. Then the the strip is removed, she applies pressure and continues throughout the area, coaching you through with breathing exercises. I know this sounds like a lot, but it's relatively simple and incredibly effective. And like I mentioned in my first review, she finishes off your skin with astringents, oils and powders to close pores and sooth to any irritation.

After griping about the effects of my last wax from my Houston lady, she gave me a free roll on stick bottle of PFB Vanish, a pre/post treatment for waxing. "I've tried 'em all," she said, "and this is the only thing that I found that works." I'm glad she has a lot of great quality products her clients can take advantage of based on her recommendation and experiences.

There's another esthetician at Bombshell who I hear is equally great, Michelle; she was trained by Kerra afterall. (I actually mistook her for Kerra when i was waiting in the adjacent room. I heard her coaching the same breathing exercises with a client.) Michelle also does facials.

I'm looking forward to my next trip to Austin. Hopefully I can tie it in with a followup visit with Kerra. She really knows her stuff. Oh, and you get to listen to great indie music while your at it.

Look, I don't like people knowing my personal business.  I don't like to regale people with tales of menstrual mishaps or the latest drama with my boyfriend.  And I'd really rather not overshare when it comes to personal grooming, either.  But helping others avoid needless pain is enough of a reason to write this review.

Kerra is awesome; the wax was thorough and really painless, and the studio is actually really nice, though she did mention that she'll probably move to a more central location when her lease is up.

Oh, and we discussed everything from the broken health care system to the Presidential race to high-rise condos in Austin.  Being able to participate in an interesting, intelligent conversation is almost enough to counteract the ridiculousness of paying money to have hot wax poured and then ripped off your skin.

Overall, the prices are reasonable and Kerra is an excellent aesthetician.  I would recommend The Strip to anyone.
